Why I Want to Study Japanese

I like to watch anime. My Saturday mornings involved eating cereal and watching Pokemon and Dragonball Z as a kid. Most recently, I like to listen to Japanese music. Most of the music I listen to is in Japanese, however, I do not quite understand the lyrics. While doing some research, not only do I find what these songs mean, but I have learned about the artists themselves and where in Japan they come from. I realize that Japan has many beautiful towns and festivities. I find Japan very unique compared to other countries in the world, thus, I am really interested in learning more about the culture, and language of course. I love listening to the language. Each individual character represents a simple sound with a consonant and vowel, but all characters combined together create a more complicated meaning. I hope to learn Japanese in order to one day visit Japan. My dream is to travel to many countries and learn about life in other places. I hope my dream can begin with Japan.
